He stated that the conference would provide a platform for global experts and scholars to exchange ideas and collaborate, and that the university would seize this opportunity to strengthen communication and cooperation with domestic and international universities and academic institutions, contributing to the high-quality development of the university’s foreign language and literature disciplines and the cultivation of outstanding foreign language talents.

Wang Gaozu delivered a welcome speech, extending his warm greetings and gratitude to the experts and scholars from both China and abroad who attended and participated in the conference. He stated that the purpose of the conference was to establish a platform for exchange and cooperation in the field of foreign language and literature, hoping that the scholars attending would gain new insights, promote deeper collaboration, and inspire innovative ideas, thereby enhancing both teaching and research levels. He emphasized the importance of culture, language, and literature in advancing human civilization and promoting international communication, encouraging the scholars to strengthen cooperation and jointly promote the development of this field.

The keynote speeches of the conference focused on themes such as pedagogy, linguistics, teacher education development, and intercultural communication. Experts in attendance shared their research findings and academic perspectives one by one. The keynote speeches were hosted by Professor Yuan Xiaolu from Xi'an University of Posts and Telecommunications and Professor Zhang Yi from Northwestern Polytechnical University. The invited talks were hosted by Professor Li Qin from Xi'an International Studies University.

In the field of education, Professor Sean Lancaster, Assistant to the President of Michigan Grand Canyon State University, discussed the intersection of technology, pedagogy, and learning. He emphasized that universities, as institutions that provide high-quality education and cultivate future leaders and problem solvers, must use scientifically appropriate teaching methods to promote students' discernment, critical thinking, and communication skills in the rapidly evolving information age. He also highlighted the importance of utilizing current technologies to guide teaching practices and enhance educational outcomes.

In the field of linguistics, Professor Xu Yizhong, Associate Dean of the School of Foreign Languages at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, pointed out that the linguistic system in kinship relations influences the ways in which different countries address family members. This supports the theory that language structure affects cognition. He explored the interrelationship and interaction between language and culture from the perspectives of linguistic features and human cognitive tendencies, emphasizing the significant role of language in the progress of human civilization.

In the field of teacher education development, Dr. Kevin Balchin, Director of the Language Centre at the University of Canterbury in the UK, shared insights on the theme of reflective practices in English language teacher education. He engaged with fellow scholars in discussing practical issues such as whether English language teachers are capable of engaging in reflective teaching, whether reflective practices should focus on the “here and now” of teaching, whether reflection helps in cultivating and developing the essential skills required for the profession, and the impact of emotions on teacher reflection.

Under the theme of cultural diversity, Professor Wen Xiong from Winston-Salem State University in the United States delivered an invited talk on cultural differences in intercultural communication, sparking lively discussions among the attending scholars. She proposed how to guide students' focus on social justice issues through the humanistic content of "East Asian language and culture contact topics." She argued that by examining the linguistic and cultural connections between China, Korea, and Japan, students would not only learn about the global interactions of Chinese language with the other two Asian languages, but also gain insights into geography, history, culture, and other aspects.

Both the keynote speeches and invited talks received enthusiastic and positive feedback from the attending scholars. The conference then proceeded to the parallel session discussions and poster presentations. A total of 12 parallel forums were held, featuring over 100 presentations and 8 poster displays, covering a wide range of topics including English teaching and second language acquisition, language education and phonetic features, language testing and psychology in language learning, academic writing and textual characteristics of academic papers, literary analysis and interpretation of novel works, social media content and discourse analysis, sociolinguistics and conversation analysis, and intercultural communication and cultural dissemination. Experts, scholars, and outstanding graduate students engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges on the forum topics, collectively advancing the future development of culture, language, and literature.
